Prom 2011

Another one for the books. It went well tonight. Hopefully allthe kids are safe and we have an uneventful rest of the weekend. Theme was Masquarade.

Well, We finally got around to getting our Betty Joe tree.... actually trees. We got two dwarf peach trees. One of which has a peach already growing. (Watch out Maude you can't have it!!!)

The trees say that they can withstand 0 to -10 so hopefully they will survive. My guess is we will mulch and wrap in the winter.

Kinda of bad news. Joe informed us that he will be having a closing on his house in early June. Looks like a new young couple as neighbors. They are getting married on the 25th of June. Fingers crossed. We will miss Joe as a neighbor.

Coffeehouse

Allright,

So it's been awhile. Here we were tonight at the final CHS coffeehouse. This is usually held outside, however the weather did not cooperate. We did absolutely zero practices with this. In fact the drummer (our band teacher) was told that he was playing with us about 2 min. before we got on stage, hence the difficulties in the middle. This was a nice song for me, no music needed, followed all chord changes without errors. The only thing I wish I had worked on were strumming patterns, however it worked out because Chris caught the patterns I missed. I played my 12 string on this. Good times. Next up will probably be some uke songs.

AP Test

So today is the AP Chem test.

I had one student stop by and tell me that everyone survived but that it was really hard. Go figure.

I was told that 3 students showed up late... seriously???

I try to steer clear of students the day of the test and don't talk about it at all until the Free response Q's are released roughly 48 hrs after the test is given. I am not allowed to discuss the multiple choice questions with the students at all.

On a different note, I had my first "big" acid spill of the year today. A student knocked over my flask of 1 M HCl. Not a huge deal although it upset me that the students were not being careful. This could have easily been the 6 M sitting near it.
