Sat. Beth and I took an escape across the pond. No we didn't take that pick. We did wish we had brought a camera though as it was beautiful up there. Did a lot of window shopping in 3 degree weather. We came back by way of Wilmington and Jay very nice. Today was a sit back day. I went to the gym while Beth worked on some paperwork. Nap in the afternoon, every weekend should be relaxed like this.

I'm Batman

One of my all time fav TV musicals as goofy as it sounds. Interesting to see Christian Bale. The musical is actually about the NewYork paperboy strike. Interesting historical moment. The movie also has Bill Pullman, Ann margret etc.. in it

Business

I've started my next grad class. It seems interesting and I'm enjoying it so far. Exams are pretty well over (make up day tomorrow) so it's back to business there.
Seems like the Bruins need a back to business a** kickin as they have dropped a buttload of games since the winter classic and I believe have just dropped out of the playoff picture. I know a lot of them are hurt but come on. Today they play the Hurricanes and SHOULD be a win, however with the way they have played?
Football should be interesting today.
Beth and I will be stopping by a fundraiser this afternoon for a former student of mine. He was a star basketball player who got bone cancer and isn't doing well. It's really sad. He was actually on Regis a year or so ago proposing to his fiancee. She is the one organizing this. Unfortunately he is out west getting treatment that isn't covered by insurance. Prayers are with you Tommy.

Thoughts and prayers are with the folks down in Haiti.

On a nice note here are some pictures taken by a colleague over christmas. He lives out in westford. (towards where the Country Pantry Restaraunt was. Very pretty and an interesting weather phenomena to create them.

Exams

As I get ready for exams it's always nice to be able to show students the importance of conversions. To illustrate this here is a nice ideo one of my math colleagues showed to me.

Back at it

Okay everyone, play time's over. Beth and I are back, ingrained in the grind again. One week in and going strong. My school is a week away from exams so it's go time trying to get everything ready. I will be starting my next masters class in a few weeks so I need to enjoy my freedom for the minute.

On a sports note I have to say DAMN all knees. First Welker goes down destroying any chance the patriots had at a post season. (not that their defense helped). Oh well, good luck Colts although my gut is telling me it's Favre's time to shine... go ahead and gloat P, you deserve it. Shortly after, Bergeron and Savard went down for the Bruins. Goodbye to their struggling offense. Looks like they will be out 3-4 weeks. Hopefully they can hold onto playoff status.

Denali is still having fun with the snow, however she is missing all the time she was able to spend with us.

Well adios for now.

Worst Ever

Well NBC local news has just reported that this storm has dumped the most snow in Burlington.... ever. 32.9" and still going strong.

We don't have quite that much and in fact Plattsburgh only has 7-8"

Yeesh.

Swanton (where Beth works got 5. I haven't heard about Colchester, but it's closer to Burlington than we are. I predict school tomorrow.

Pics

Here's a few pics.

Snow

Allright already,

We give. Expected snowfall by Mon. Morning 8-14". As of about an hour ago. 18-20" on our driveway. Getting a bit tired of shoveling. At least it is light and fluffy (and to give them credit once it settles they'll probably be pretty close with the totals. We are a bit concerned with some of the pine trees that had snow and ice from the last storm. There are some very low hanging branches. We'll try to get some picks up later. On a good note, Denali loves it.

Winter Classic

Whew, they did it.

Happy New Years everyone. We wish you all the best for this upcoming year. Beth and I are snug in our house enjoying the Bruins win over the Flyers. It was a great game even if that former UVM goalie let one in that he shouldn't have. We are expecting some big snow build-up over the next two days. Winter storm watch right now. It looks like not a lot at once, just a steady drop over 3 days. last we heard 12-18 inches.
