Been awhile

Hello everyone, So it's been awhile since my last post. It sometimes feels easier to just post on facebook and I start to forget that I still have my blog. So here is a quick update... pictures included.

first off is a picture of Denali with a Christmas toy. The picture was done using the colorsplash app which allows you to create black and white pics with selected items colored in.

next is the print I have from our fav. local Milton artist. This is the same artist that we got prints for S and N. I got this because it makes me think of Denali and I watching a sunset.
A few weeks ago, Beth and I took a trip down to Quechee to our favorite antique store. I found this great Ocarina with a monkey "sasquatch like" picture on it for $5.00 I'll take it.
2 weekends ago we had quite the cold spell. Beth Denali and I took the opportunity to head out on the ice of Lake Champlain. This is a rare occurrance as neither of us is overly comfortable out on lake ice.

This past weekend after the Blizzardmania We headed down to Burlington for some shopping. We noticed this great graffitti on the back of a buiding near the parking garage.

And finally I have been busy building up my collections of board games as inspired by Wil Wheaton's tabletop and the "watch it played" you tube channel.
I have enjoyed playing the Wrath of Ashardalon game the Schalx's got me and now I have a couple more to try.

We are looking forward to Beth's birthday that is coming up as well as February break which will arrive in a couple of weeks.

p.s.- My Ibanez acoustic electric guitar electric input output crapped out so I am anxiuosly awaiting repair.. should be done in a week or so. This has been a great opportunity for me to pull out my 12 string for awhile. No fingerpicking but I love the tone of playing chords on the 12 string. It is such a full sound.

bye for now.

Pictures

Here are a few pictures we had.

December Coffeehouse

So tonight was our December Coffeehouse. In all I performed in three songs. The first was Santa Claus is Coming to Town, the second was the Grinch, and the third was Frosty the Snowman with the ukulele club.

I played the banjo ukulele for all three songs. I will include links to the first two songs, however we absolutely butchered Frosty and I deleted it from the camera. Nobody needs to ever see that.
I will also include a link to the teachers performing another song. It is REM's "End of the World". While I am not in this, they did a great job and it felt very apropriate considering the date.

so here they are:

Graduation

On a good note, this weekend Beth finished her Masters program and was able to graduate at a nice commencement ceremony at UVM. I am so proud of her and I know that she has worked extremely hard for this. We were able to enjoy the ceremony with Beth's parents who visited and we enjoyed spending quality time together. It will be nice to get some down time with Beth now that we don't have to worry about getting homework done. I will post some pictures from graduation at a later date.

Newtown

Newtown is in my thoughts and prayers at this time. It is too hard and could in no way reflect on all the memories, and emotions I have been going through these past three days. I will simply say at this time that it is surreal to think that the President of the United States was in my high school, speaking on the stage that I was on every day for 4 years, consoling children and families in the band room where I stored my euphonium and practiced. I wish he had visited for a different reasons and I pray for the families directly affected. I selfishly thank God that my direct friends did not have children that were injured, although there are definately a few connections to my class which is only expected given the size and make-up of this community.
