Folk Music
We enjoyed the Lake Champlain Folk Music Festival today. It was held down on the Burlington Waterfront. There was music to a storyline for kids with a spinning animation... really cool, various artists and a really enjoyable join in jam. A group would start playing a rhythym, then anyone with an instrument coud join in and play. It was awesome and made me wish I was good enough and had brought my mandolin. The predominant instrument at the festival was the violin by far, however almost all string and reed instruments were present.
We are going to have a campfire in about an hour. Smores and all.
Tomorrow we will travel over to a taste of Stowe arts and Craft Fair. Lots of local artists and good food.

long day
Well after taking the boat out and not having the motor turn over. yikes (hopefully it is just a clogged filter or something), We decided to head out to a Vt Lake Monsters ball game (single A team for the Nationals). It was fun. We won 10 to 1 with two Home Run hits. Interestingly enough they had many of the Northeast Babe Ruth State Champion teams in attendance. One of them was a certain Blue and Gold team from Connecticut. I was too afraid to go down and talk with anyone in case any of the kids were children of my classmates.

back
So we are back from our trip to Indiana. We had a great time. We have gotten the yard back into shape, Beth has worked on her garden and flower beds. (the garden went nuts and is growing like mad). I went in to school yesterday for some summer curriculum work and Beth has he training this week. Today I am going shopping for set supplies. Hellllllooo Costco and Walmart. My favorite!!!!. To reward myself I'll probably stop by the music stores.
Here is a link to scientific tuesday's demos of magnetic ferrofluids. Pretty cool stuff.

Indiana Downs
After a great 4th of July with Beth's family last week, we are now in Indiana for a couple of days. Tonight we Head to the racetrack. Beth and I love going here and watching the horses. Tomorrow we head to Nashville Indiana which is an artist community filled with small shops of art/crafts and gifts. The store where I got my mandolin, pickin stick and my campfire guitar is here. Weedpatch Music. We will also get to see Aunt Elaine today and that should be exciting. Unfortunately we won't get to see my Uncle John this time, but his schedule appears to be freeing up more than in the past and we are hopeful we will meet up with him soon.
I got to go to breakfast with my father at the Greensburg fair yesterday with my father at his Optimist's Club meeting. It was a nice set of guys and they all made me feel real welcome. Wish there was a group like this back home.
